BUGS X RAGLAN 2022
BLINK
Blink practically crate trained overnight. He never destroyed anything in my house! I have never had a dog that became so happy to know we were going out to train. He loved any lessons. He would jump for joy when I would say “YES!"
As his trainer I had to constantly up my game to teach something new. We binged on classes from Denise Fenzi sports academy which I cant recommend to anyone enough. One class taught by Jo Laurens was Force free whistle stop. My dog learned this in ONE day and he LOVED it.
Blink is now with a hunt test retriever trainer. I placed him there as I am a novice to hunt test.. and I truly want his natural ability to shine. His trainer is very pleased with him He has made mention of some of the following.."he is smart... he loves the water... he loves the birds... he has such focus.. he wants to please.. he is fearless... he is biddable...he will make not only a great competition dog but a great companion.”
Blink has also matured my thinking and is one the greatest lessons he has taught me. I can have a high drive dog that also has a calm manner. What a new experience for me...and so enjoyable. Lastly, my old girl dog never liked puppies. She took to Blink immediately.

FELICITY
Falicity is the picture of unabashed joy no matter the situation. She is always excited to engage with her person, and is up for whatever you are. She has great focus, and great biddability. Easy to live with, and has an excellent off-switch. She has excellent understanding of "work mode" and times when she can just do her own thing and just go sniff around the farm. She is an insanely athletic dog, who can fit herself into just about any corner and jump through even the smallest of holes while at a full run. Felicity is also great at adjusting to the person and the dog in front of her; she knows who she can play rough with and who to be gentle with. Her prey drive is excellent, and in the same breadth she will also recall away from whatever she is chasing easily. Her biggest downfall is that she has absolutely no sense of self preservation; she makes crazy leaps, lays down too close to horses' feet, barrels through walls, etc. Conformationally, she is quite a long dog, which means that her topline isn't the strongest naturally. She has nice, tight cat feet with nails that trim themselves nicely through exercise.

ROADIE
Roadie is my 4th Blackfoot dog so it is no surprise that I am very pleased with my Bugs/Raglan “puppy”.
Roadie is a tad more… cautious… in new situations/environments but not in a bad way. He observes and contemplates actions before taking action. He is not one to blast full-steam into a situation and face the consequences. Paired with that, he is also Very High Drive so I believe this makes him nicely balanced. He is a pleasure to work with. He is biddable and eager to learn new tasks and behaviors. I am very excited about our future together. ~ MARY
KALI
As I sit here with Kali's head in my lap there's soooo much I could say about this amazing pup: There's literally nothing she can't do. Teach her a new skill a handful of times and she has it down. I've taken her to multiple public areas to generalize her training and people are in awe of her...I even got a round of applause! They ask "why can't my dog be like this?" or say "How long have you been training dogs, she's so good"...Kali is my first EVER endeavor into dog training and if Kali wasn't so special, so attentive, so driven and wanting to please, there's no way I could do it. I have put a lot of time and effort into her training but she makes it so much fun and easy, she's nothing but a joy.
The goal is for Kali is become to be my duck dog and I have no doubt she's going to excel. She's been extremely birdy from the start and LOVES to retrieve.
Kali is so sweet and gentle with our 2 and 4 year old kids, she likes to annoy the cats but never aggressive, loves to play & wrestle with the other dogs but is respectful of their space. The "on/off" switch this dog has is incredible. She's so driven, high energy and focused when it's time to train and retrieve. Inside she's more than fine chilling in her crate, chewing a bone or relaxing in your lap. She's very curious and will follow me anywhere, definitely loves to be close.
Words can't express how much I love this dog, she's everything I could have ever imagined and so much more. With that said I can't thank Danielle for all that she puts into taking care of Raglan, caring for the puppies and all the experiences she puts them through to make them the most well rounded puppies they could possibly be.

SEE YA
See-Ya was our POL puppy from the 2022 litter. You can see a lot of videos and more photos and updates about her if you follow our BlacKoot facebook page!
See-Ya is a complete and total joy to live with and to train. She has the most STYLISH "heel" I have ever seen with a Labrador in our training program.
She is very food & prey motivated making her training a breeze. This girl is quiet as a mouse in her crate / kennel. She is affectionate and gets along great with other dogs. She is quite simply one of the most balanced personalities ever. ~ DANIELLE
SHORESY
Shoresy is a high drive puppy with exceptional environmental stability, athleticism, biddability. He picks up new concepts within a handful of repetitions.
I am new to hunt test training, and he has been wonderful to work with as my first prospect. He naturally retrieves with power and efficiency, and has impressed every dog person he’s met with how nice and well-rounded he is.
Shoresy won’t give up on a task until he’s seen it through or figured it out. He gets along with everyone, but settles in and is neutral when it’s time to work. He is best friends with my Dutch shepherd, who most certainly does NOT like everyone. He has even learned to get along well with my cat. His off switch is pretty darn good for a puppy his age, and he’s made several work trips with my husband to the local military base where he politely lays down and hangs out while he does office tasks.
Shoresy is currently training for hunt tests, rally, competition obedience, and non-protection WDA titles. He also helps me as a demo dog in my pet training business and I constantly get comments on how much his participation helps people. He’s pretty much everything I hoped for in getting a lab from Danielle, and more.

GIBBS
Gibbs will be our 3rd Blackfoot pup from Danielle and I could write a book but I will be brief. Gibbs is my first boy pup in a long time and as I have experienced boys are not as biddable as girl pups. Gibbs has proven me incorrect on that issue and I can attribute that to the expertise and care that Danielle performs for all her litters.
Gibbs took very well to crate training, he considers the crate his “safe space”, his potty training started with the jingle bells and graduated to taking himself outside the dog door at 2 ½ months which is down a flight of stairs, thru the basement and out the side door to the yard. He is wonderful to travel with and is quite at his sister’s trials and training sessions with all the distractions and noise. Gibbs is focused when we are working and very biddable for learning new tasks and tries very hard to perfect each skill. He has an amazing ability for recall, retrieve and works best off leash. He also is a perfect play partner with his day care buddies and big sisters but is a perfect cuddle pup at days end.
He has earned his intermediate Obedience certificates and is currently in Rally, Trick, Scent work and foundational agility training. My goal for him was to train for national agility competition like his sisters. With his longer body and tall legs it has given me pause but he will let me know which path he will want to pursue.
In my opinion, Danielle’s breeding program is top notch, from her extensive research to puppy tactile training to being involved with her clients as a family, you know you have the best in a working American Labrador. ~ Sandy
HAZEL
Hazel is a very smart dog with a great off switch, she loves to hop like a bunny and is so full of energy and life.
Hazel is being trained as a bomb dog and she is killing it! She has incredible drive when it comes to working she will work until she drops. The management and handlers at Merrill's Detector Dog services love your dogs so much!!
You do an amazing job with the breedings and the puppies!! We thank you for all the hard you do with them from when they are born till we are able to bring them home!! ~ WESLEY
